Exmple for CronJob in Readme

Open natrius opened this issue 6 years ago • 11 comments

Hello, would you be so kind and provide a example cronjob here and further in the readme? I have seen that this question was asked around somewhere else too. Best regards

Are you talking about https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/stable/admin_manual/configuration_server/background_jobs_configuration.html? That's no ownBackup-specific thing. You have cronjobs for your Nextcloud instance already...

I have the same issue, I have installed your app, it works like a charm but only to made manual backup. What does I need to add to my crontab? Thank you Matthieu from Brussels

Same here, it seems there is already something in place to make automatic backups. I only changed once from AJAX to Cron for backupservices every 15 minutes, but that does not compare to the backups every hour.

i have a cronjob in place already for general maintenance, being executed every 15 min . It does not seem that there are backups every 15 min. how can i change the backup interval? (once every 24 hours should be enough for my purposes).

thank you for answering bendsch

It is hardcoded to one backup per hour.

ok, thank you! would be nice of course to set the interval from the app.

kind regards bendsch

I'm open to pull requests. ;)

Well, making this configurable is, of course, a nice to have feature. What is missing from the README.md and/or any other documentation is that you don't need to do anything. The README document mentions something about the cronjob, but actually it refers to the Nextcloud cronjob. By default you only need to install this app to get it working (which is great thing, but should be documented).

Then you came to the right place. I'm open for a documentation pull-request. 😁
