Starterkit don't install for MAC

While installing using Composer, starterkit is not getting downloaded and error message does not specify why

suggested starterkits that work with this edition:

1: pattern-lab/starterkit-twig-demo 2: pattern-lab/starterkit-twig-drupal-minimal 3: aleksip/starterkit-shila-drupal-theme 4: forumone/starterkit-twig-drupal-gesso

choose an option or hit return to skip: (ex. 1) > 1 downloading the starterkit. this may take a few minutes... the starterkit wasn't downloaded because:

Again after trying to install with php core/console command gives the error

php core/console --starterkit --install pattern-lab/starterkit-twig-drupal-minimal configuring pattern lab... downloading the starterkit. this may take a few minutes... the starterkit wasn't downloaded because: file_get_contents(https://github.com/pattern-lab/starterkit-twig-drupal-minimal/archive/master.tar.gz): failed to open stream: operation failed

I'm getting this exact same issue. Any solutions/suggestions?
