Can I customize the icon for pkg? It seems to be Apple PackageMaker Software.

I want to show different icon for different pkg, but I don't know how to customize icon for distribution.

It is possible to set a custom icon either by copying the icon in the Finder info window or playing with the extended attributes (because at the end, the custom icon will be associated to the .pkg file using the extended attributes).

The caveat is that this means that you can't distribute the .pkg file as is on a website for instance because you would lose the extended attributes. One way to keep the extended attributes is then to compress the .pkg as a .zip file. Don't expect a big compression gain as the contents of the .pkg archive is already compressed.
