Unable to see media controls

Describe the bug

When trying to view media that another user has sent there is a low chance that the controls to pause & seek said media will even show, including the progress of the media overall.

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Recieve or send a video
2. Attempt to view it and exit if the controls do not show.
