[Feature Request] remember last played track/playlist

Would it technically be possible to remember the state of the last stream as well as the (position in the) playlist? I.e. if I close the tab/browser and come back to the music app, that I have the possibility to continue where I stopped.

Im not really familiar with the app, but I can imagine that there could be some sort of interference if multiple clients are listening (would require something like a client cookie or solve it server-side).

There are many issues here which ask for a background-mode (or top-bar-mode or similar features) which is hard to implement for reasons. However, I think the actual reason why people feel the need for this is exactly because of the "fear" to loose the current music session (as any other situation can be handled by just opening a new tab). If I'm right, one could get rid of that by having music remember the last state...

I use this app to listen audio audiobooks. It works perfectly when playing, but as @martingabelmann suggested, it would be wonderful to add a bookmark feature to mark the interrupt point. It is pretty helpful to continue a long audio next time.
