Could TabFS eventually become a 'provider' in Powershell?

Powershell already abstracts several different data stores using the filesystem metaphor:

Now that Powershell is open-source and fully cross-platform, could leveraging this framework help TabFS either by making a bigger ecosystem of tools available to the developer or by expanding its potential audience?
