Satellite imagery toggles for visualisation

Open manoharuss opened this issue 9 years ago • 2 comments

Currently, when we zoom in we can see satellite imagery appearing with a dark tint. This is not really helpful with big feature changes and when looking at large changesets.

Would it be possible to have toggles on the changeset map to quickly change the background layer in the visualisation?

Toggles

  1. Mapbox Satellite Layer
  2. Bing Satellite Layer (Mapbox does not have good imagery at some places, black blocks in some areas.)
  3. OpenStreetMap Standard Layer (to see how if there is any weird things happening on OSM itself quickly at that place)

Bumping this up based on @yurasi’s ticket #134.

For Bing Satellite Layer, @planemad suggested:

Bing imagery uses the quadkey format, and it looks like it should be possible to add this in mapbox-gl-js https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-js/pull/2805 , possible documentation https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-js/issues/4137

bump @kepta is this something you can look at to see if it's a quick fix?
