It seems this software is no longer maintained. The latest upstream activity is 8 years ago. No packages depend on this.

Hi! I don't use smstools3 myself at the moment and certainly can't claim to maintain the package. It's fine for me to drop it. That way, somebody else might step up, if they actually care about the package.
However there are also a few points for keeping it:
- AFAIK the old code still works well.
- Debian also still ships the same version we do.
- I don't know of any more modern software that provides the same functionality.
Anyway, please go ahead with whatever you think is best!
Hey @turris-cz team, could you please share some statistics regarding your turris-survey? It would be helpful to know exactly how many of the opted-in routers have this package installed.

We are currently migrating the server part of turris-survey to a new solution. When it will be finished, we will publish some statistics. I can't promise any exact term, but we hope that it will be soon :wink:
So, at this moment, you cannot check the existing solution to see if, say, a couple of users have it installed?
We basically can, but the current Influx-based solution became extremely slow and is currently almost unusable. It's the main reason for the migration.
