Allow to turn HPRM on/off per vDisk

Open wimpers opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

The HPRM offers flexibility we are not using today:

  • When adding the vPool, allow to set HPRM On/off as default for the vPool (updateable afterwards).
  • vDisks inherit the vPool default on creation
  • Allow to turn HPRM on/off per vDisk on the vDisk detail page

This requires HPRM to be a fully managed solution and not the responsibility of the consumer. or the volumedriver/alba should support disabling this for a volume / namespace

I was hoping not to create an HPRM manager but to piggy back on the edge/voldrv communication like we do for the voldrv ownership. The edge could periodically check the voldrv for the hprm status.

Maybe extend the on/off with the amount of manifest data to cache (in GB).

This is now set in the edge context and doesn't need integration in the framework for all vDisks.

Meaning for iSCSI manager we could integrate this in the GUI so it gets set.
