Mapping Taxonomies

Taxonomies

  • We discussed Taxonomies and the potential for Picklists and Open Codelists. The potential for a set of recommendations based on community needs that could start off very basic and build up to eligibility.

  • There was a suggestion and general agreement that engaging with communities and mapping what taxonomies are in use would be a worthwhile exercise (perhaps using tree views). Linked to this it was suggested that opening up and sharing taxonomy data so that usage could be quantified.

  • The question of how much the initiative should be involved with taxonomies also arose.

Seems` like another opportunity for us to make a codelist for the standard and put “redacted” in there for location.location_type.
