Include background information

From the morning discussion it was mentioned that it would be nice to have:

• an overview of previous related workshops (@cmbarton maybe can provide a list used in NSF proposals)
• Background paper references (e.g. Science paper Barton et al., 2020, Chen et al., 2020, etc).

Maybe include these under 'About -> Back ground info'.

@alee, I think Michael was hoping you could create something like this.

a brief history of past events / workshops / etc has been added via #107 but citations to related papers aren't there yet AFAIK. A zotero library or organized / grouped list of citations might be a good way to keep these around, especially if they can dynamically feed a content page
