brew linkapps python3 reports Error: Unknown command: linkapps

linkapps doesn't work with brew anymore so not sure how to run the site locally, this probably also leads to the eventual

Bump! This is a blocker for new potential contributors like myself who want to help out with the content but have limited time to invest troubleshooting the site itself.

The core problem is that linkapps has been deprecated for some time. I am new to linkapps as well as Nikola, but based on a quick search it looks like this might be a quick fix albeit an app specific one.
