User Accessibility

Open Khaan25 opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Please make this user accessible, let's say we are tabbing around and we tab on this input and it opens but can't select up or down. This functionality would be awesome. After that, I will be using this on my website: https://vennsol.pk/fbr-data-entry

P.S. If you need any Frontend Development or contribution, let me know.

Hi @Khaan25 👋

Thanks for the suggestion and really sorry for the delay. It would be really interesting if the component was accessible. I had started it in the beginning but it was not a priority. Now we will add it in the next version.

All contributions are welcome. Feel free to submit your PR.

Maded a PR for this https://github.com/onesine/react-tailwindcss-select/pull/41

Hi @mnik01 👋 Thank you for your feedback. Your MR does not take into account all aspects of accessibility. So this issue remains open.

The earlier PR for this prevents tabbing back out of the select.

If I tab through some other inputs into the select. When I shift+tab it doesn't go back to the previous component, like it's trapped in the container somehow.

Similarly if I tab into the select it doesn't automatically open the drop-down and I can't tab through the items or get to the rest of the form just by tabbing.
