Fullscreen screenshot not working correctly with 2 Monitors with same name. OSX

Open slohmaier opened this issue 12 years ago • 9 comments

I have OSX and two monitors with the same name. That seems to confuse screencloud.

The left part shows the right screen too. When in reality there is just a terminal with the bottom bar...

I put my monitor configuration in the screenshot.

Can you check if this problem persists with 1.1.4? https://screencloud.net/files/mac/ScreenCloud-1.1.4.dmg

It's still not working correctly. Only the left screen is now considered:

  • taking a fullscreen image just takes a screen of the left screen.
  • drawing a selection on the right screen makes a screenshot of the selection from the left screen.
  • I can't drag the selection over the monitor-border.

I also noticed, that the selection takes a screenshot then you select from that screenshot. All the other Screenshot tool can do the same thing live with transparency.

Does it do that no matter where your mouse pointer is? It should take a screenshot of the "active" screen.

I can't drag the selection over the monitor-border.

This is intentional, you should be able to switch between screens with the arrow keys though.

This is a great thing imho, it lets you capture things that are only available for a short moment. I'm not sure what sense it would make to first draw the area and then take a screenshot of the (possibly changed) screen, which possibly also moved out of the area by then.

This issue is still occurring, currently using version 1.2.0 - essentially the same issue still occurs, on my right screen (actual iMac) it allows me to take a screenshot with no issues, however on my left screen (other monitor) if you haven't captured anything, it will display a grey background and then the "Draw a rectangular area".

However, if you have already captured something on the other screen - this will be the background and it will try to re-capture this again. Would love to see a fix for this.

This still happens on ScreenCloud 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 15.10

Doubt this is going to be fixed, issue has been ignored for years. I switched to Monosnap and it works fine, would recommend this over Screencloud any day.
