Set up OPF Steward Council (OPFSC)
Context:
We want to establish an Ocean Protocol Foundation Steward Council, similar to what Gitcoin and Polkadot did very successfully, scaling their DAO and structures.
As we move to retroactive grants only, this will increase the ROI for us, but will also increase overhead. Hence: we create OPFSC 🌊🏛🧑🏫.
This is a group of people responsible for assisting the 100k+/mo OceanDAO funnel, with two core responsibilities:
- Tracking & helping acccept/decline projects via this docket
- Providing feedback directly to projects to help them align with value-creation
Benefits:
- increase diversification of assessment of every project
- decrease friction
- create signal-loops (inform everyone) on opportunities coming from DAO builders
- bringing our core teams and ecosystem builders closer together, earlier
- create visibility for the 2nd largest recurring spending in OPF, after salaries
- factor in all OPF's POVs. The DAO is becoming increasingly relevant for all OPF.
This includes, practically:
- Checking out new, incoming proposals regularly
- meet every 2 weeks for 45mins, to -- sync on new proposals and our views, hopes, concerns wrt them -- perspectively: sync & align about overall DAO structures, like Discord, etc.
- Put your feedback into this docket (can be short), discuss in bi-weekly:
Attendees should come from the following areas of OPF:
Shipyard Core Tech Outreach MarCom Leadership Team
We propose the following initial member list:
Roberto Malte Andrea Christian Trent Bruce Monica (Marcom) Upkar (Outreach/Ambassador) Sheridan (Shipyard) Alex C. (Core Tech)
(Comment: a better female:male ratio needed over time.)
Time to reserve for this:
- Ca. 1-1.5h per week to check out new proposals, fill docket before each meeting (can be short, thumbs up/down)
- bi-weekly meeting, Thursdays, 3-3:45pm, to discuss / clarify on feedback
