Sync Progress Knowledge

Hi folks, I'm wondering how to get the knowledge of how far sync-engine has gone in the client side?

The sync-engine right now doesn't guarantee the time it's gonna spend to finish syncing all the old messages on one account.

So client developers don't have knowledge about what's going on in the server side.

What if sync engine could offer the information of how far it has gone in the syncing procedure?(this information could be the earliest threads it has synced or something else?)
