Unable to read the name of xaml text objects in braille without using the report navigator object command

Open Emil-18 opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

Steps to reproduce:

  • open for example notepad in windows 11
  • use object navigation to navigate to the text labeled zoom on the status bar
  • try to scroll the braille display back to read the objects name instead of the exposed text

Actual behavior:

The braille display doesn't scroll back. This only happens if you are at the beginning of the text. The objects NVDAObject region appears in the console, if you open it with NVDA+ctrl+Z and type "brlRegions" however

Expected behavior:

The braille display scrolls back as usual

yes

Does the issue still occur after you run the COM Registration Fixing Tool in NVDA's tools menu?

This is an issue with Windows, the zoom is not correctly exposed. This needs to be reported to microsoft.

@seanbudd the problem is that you can't scroll the braille display back to read the name of those types of objects, not that the "zoom" object in notepad isn't exposed correctly
