CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH not being populated

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I was trying to set up a devshell to compile a C++ project from KDE that uses cmake. Unfortunately packages added to the toml file do not automatically add search paths for libraries in CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH. Now I'm better off not using devshells at all.

Describe the solution you'd like

Obviously I'd like CMake to find my libraries. But most of all I'd like answers because this almost seems like a design choice.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Honestly this is a major inconvenience point if I have to manually populate this variable. And I'd rather stick to making shells with some Stdenv. Maybe I just don't know how to use this tool properly.
