freeze tiny11
Hello,
I installed Tiny11 (UEFI mode) on the following hardware:
- CPU: AMD FX-8150
- GPU: AMD Radeon R9 380
- RAM: 14 GB DDR3
- SSD + 550W PSU
Activation was done using a valid OEM Windows 11 and Office license. Everything worked perfectly — Steam games ran fine, no issues.
Later, I added a dual-boot setup with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Ubuntu runs flawlessly.
However, after booting back into Tiny11, I started experiencing freezes after a few minutes. No specific errors appear in the Event Viewer — no indexed crash, no GPU fault, just a silent freeze.
Safe Mode is disabled by design, and I’ve tested multiple AMD driver versions (Crimson 16.11.5 WHQL, Adrenalin 2020/2021). The issue persists regardless of driver.
This behavior only started after installing Ubuntu. Before that, Tiny11 was stable.
Any insight into possible EFI/ACPI conflicts, missing components in Tiny11, or dual-boot side effects would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
Title: Radeon Crimson Driver Stabilization on Tiny11 (R9 380) Summary: This post documents the manual installation and long-term stabilization of the Radeon Crimson driver for the R9 380 GPU on a Tiny11 system. The goal was to bypass Adrenalin, prevent automatic driver replacement, and ensure persistent functionality without interference from Windows Update or background services. Steps Taken: • Installed Tiny11 on target hardware (Radeon R9 380) • Manually deployed the Crimson driver (without Adrenalin suite) • Disabled Windows Update () to block automatic driver changes • Verified driver persistence over multiple hours of uptime • Confirmed no reinstallation attempts from Windows or background processes • Ensured the Crimson driver remains active and functional Results: • No crashes or GPU-related instability • No Adrenalin or alternative driver reinstalls • Crimson driver remains locked and operational • System remains stable across reboots and idle periods
