no 'SaveIntoDocument' advanced settings option on newest prerelease
which build? i have 64-bit , both versions
I'm sorry to say that the SumatraPDF developer has permanently removed the feature of saving highlights into external .smx files. HighlightJump used that feature. HighlightJump therefore no longer works with any new SumatraPDF versions. For background see https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/1662#issuecomment-655614403
The last known prerelease version that works with HighlightJump version 2020-03-01 is SumatraPDF-prerelease-12145-64.exe released on 2020-02-14. See https://github.com/nod5/HighlightJump/issues/9#issuecomment-628256663
I will when time allows host a copy of that prerelease so that anyone who has previously used the .smx highlights feature and HighlightJump will then have a legacy method to view, use and modify the highlights they have already created. I will also update the HighlightJump readme with a description of the current situation and notes on issues with using the older prerelease version.
Is this the end o the line for HighlightJump? Too early to tell. Once the new SumatraPDF highlights code and features becomes more mature I will examine if a new HighlightJump, or something like it, can be created.
For what its worth, in addition to the fact that there was a significant change in saving at 3.3.12145 (mentioned above) Full releases up to current version 3.2 could always show/use .smx The code to read and apply .smx annotation was removed after version 3.3.13011 so will not be available in 3.2.1 or higher
Annotations are now generally stored temporarily in memory unless committed to the PDF (by user or prompt on closing) then they are then accessible primarily from the PDF appendages just like in any other reader.
Can you supply a installer for the sumatraPDF-prerelease-12145-64.exe, I can't find it. Please!
