Tooltips not rendering properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fire up xemacs
2. Mouse over any of the toolbar buttons

The tooltips which appear contain no text and have a thick black bar along the 
bottom. 

This occurs in v0.0.6, with the server running RHEL5.5 and the client running 
cygwin-1.7 on XP Pro SP3.
