MMS are not synced
When i receive or send a MMS containing an image or some other data Then this image should be synced to the server, too
In fact the MMS format is very different than the SMS format (which is plain text) it's why MMS are not synced
Okay, just wanted to leave a note here that this is something a user would expect (at least i ;) ) - nethertheless it isn't urgent.
This feature would be really nice to have. I agree that it should be something added in a future release.
Oh, I thought this were a bug... it's not implemented ok.
Would it be possible to synchronise the MMS (payload and all) as a first step, without necessarily displaying its contents in the Nextcloud server-side application?
This would be useful as I've sent some photos to friends and family over SMS and MMS. I would like to see some feature that would include MMS in sync if possible.
With group chats and Google's messaging app using MMS over wifi by default even for single person conversations using this sync is pretty useless to me without MMS support.
@jrobinson52 to be fair, what's useless is using Google's messaging app.
If you want people to adopt your software it needs to be compatible with the most popular messaging apps. And i don't know any of the popular ones that don't use MMS primarily
Without MMS sync, this app is merely "interesting" but serves no useful purpose.
In my browser, I can see some conversations I've had (although most common contacts are not chronologically sorted due to the space-in-sms_address-field issue) but as a backup and/or restore tool it's not functional.

Wouldn't base64 encoding take care of the binary issue?
