Notes sharing not working

Describe the bug

Sharing of notes is not working as expected. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Notes app in nextcloud 26 and share the specific notes with a nextcloud user
  2. Now login from other nextcloud user and go to notes
  3. Shared notes in not visible

Expected behavior Shared notes should be visible

Server details:

  • Nextcloud version: 26.0.8
  • PHP Version: 8.2
  • Database: Mariadb

I can reproduce with Notes 4.9.2 on Nextcloud 27.1.5.

Seems to work in v28, but not in v27. I think there was some stuff done for backwards compatibility (<28) in #1146, but I'd have to look closer to see if that could somehow be related.

I've noticed this problem as well and what I've found is this:

  • Sharing a single note: The user can see the note, but as a normal file in their Nextcloud root folder.
  • Sharing a folder within notes: The user can see the folder, but as a folder within their Nextcloud root folder.

To see the shared notes, they have to move them into the /Notes folder.

Notice: This occurs even when you share from within the Notes app.

P.S.: Running 27.1.8 via Snap, so that might be why.

I can also confirm that notes shared with me do not show up in the notes app anywhere. Similarly sharing a note with another user or goup of users does not show in the note in the notes app [Nextcloud Hub 8] (29.0.4) Running on DOCKER AIO
