Provide list of compatible clients

Hello community,

based on a thread on reddit I'd like to submit this revised list of OpenSource clients that integrate in any way with the Nextcloud server. I think this would be a useful addition to the docs, especially for beginners novice users.

I think it is more of a living document and thus could be in a wiki or on a repo of its own. Likes those "awesome" lists of XYZ (here is a meta list of awesome lists).

But I think this repo is a living collection of documents that are part of the documentation. A separate repo would be overkill imho.

Sure, but then who takes care to track all the various 3rd party apps for various Nextcloud apps or features? Which expectations does it create, when they are included in the official documentation?

In the server wiki, this could be a good place? So you have a starting point of clients even when the document gets outdated. And it's not part of the official docs, where there is no date to the document and also more official than the wiki...

Maybe the Community Forum Wiki for the time being? https://help.nextcloud.com/c/wiki/184

We could even link to it/the relevant entry/entries there (high-level/overarching) from the official manual and give the link(s) proper context.

I think it would be nice to have them all in the app store. There is at the moment a discussion going on there as it seems it is not clear to many client developers that it is possible to register clients in the app store but it actually is, I think this is a good place for gathering apps or clients. We probably have to improve the design a bit though. Related discussion here: https://github.com/nextcloud/appstore/issues/1092

Also thank you for listing them all and making such a nice overview @thomas-mc-work , this is very useful!

Is this only for "apps" or "integrations"? I wrote a "simple page server" some time ago that is working fine. Granted, it may not do very much, but maybe someone would find it useful?

An idea would be to also include WordPress plugins that, in some way, talk to Nextcloud for whatever reason (calendar, authentication, etc).

If I get it correctly this discussion is about clients like desktop clients or android apps for example, but of course when is it a client or when is it an integration is a blurry line. The app store accepts both. I checked out your work and I'm sure some people would find it useful, would you be up for registering it in the app store?

And do you happen to know which wordpress plugins exist out there (and maybe who developed them)?
