[IMPORTANT FEATURE] an important feature of DECK needed to work with a large company. This is good for DECK to be popular like TRELLO
Here is my feedback on DECK when applied to a company. This is my subjective opinion. If there is anything wrong, please respond.
Description Issue:
- A company has 100 employees and 3 managers. Now I want to arrange those 100 employees into a group, this group will not be able to edit boards, create boards, only can comment, receive work and send files. Only the other 3 managers can customize DECK with full permissions. But I don't see this in DECK
Question:
- This may sound like a personal feature, but for DECK to become more useful, this is an extremely necessary feature. I wonder if this feature will be approved as a priority? I'm not a good Dev, sorry. I created a ticket similar to this before, how long did it take for this to be resolved?
@wcdfilll As far as I know, current deck app can resolve that use-case
- Login as admin
- Create a group for employees and assign employee users to that group
- Access Deck app and create board(s)
- Share board(s) to manager users with full permission (Can edit , Can share, Can manage)
- Share board(s) to the employee group with view only permission (make sure to un-check Can edit, Can share, Can manage) Users in employee group can only view and comment on cards of shared boards
Any thoughts @wcdfilll on Luka's feedback? Have you had an opportunity to experiment a bit?
@wcdfilll have you reported the bugs with the Deck app to the maintainer? https://github.com/stefan-niedermann/nextcloud-deck
Can you describe what problems you are having with the use of groups within Deck? I can create a board, share it with a group and then grant an individual a different permission level.
Issues with the Deck Android app need to be reported on their issue tracker as this one only tracks issues in Deck itself. I'd imagine they'd be very pleased to receive updated translations.
Not sure whether the original report isn't detailed enough or just needs further explanation. As stated above I can create a "staff group" in Nextcloud, share a board with 1 or more users (managers), granting them full permissions, and then share the same board with the "staff group" with only the basic permissions.
Does the above not describe what you are trying to do?
@putt1ck was correct, the Deck Android app issues should be reported to the following GitHub repository: https://github.com/stefan-niedermann/nextcloud-deck/issues @wcdfilll In the meantime, could you please confirm if you are experiencing any issues with the Deck app on the web UI?
