Ability to hide boards in board overview

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I got a lot of shared boards in my board overview (all boards, left sidebar), which are shared with me through a group. To achieve a better overview, I'd like to hide some boards which I don't need anymore. Currently there are only options to delete a board, which deletes it for all users, and to archive a board, which archives it for all users. I'd like to just hide a board for my user, but to stay the same for all other users.

Describe the solution you'd like Add a new left sidebar category "Hidden Boards", which is collapsed by default. Add an option to the three dot menu to hide/unhide a board.

Describe alternatives you've considered A category "My Boards" in the left sidebar. But this has the downside that I'm unable to see selected shared boards.

It's actually not a duplicate of #2006. #2006 describes the ability to create custom categories. I just want to hide boards, which is much simpler to resolve/implement than FR #2006, even though it's possible to resolve my FR via #2006 by creating a category "hidden" and to move boards there, in case #2006 will be implemented. But it seems like #2006 is not on the feature roadmap so far?! The much simpler solution would be to add a user specific array to the deck:

hiddenForUsers: Array(UserID)

or to save this somehow to the user itself:

hiddenBoards: Array(BoardID)

Actually my FR seems related to #955. E.g. #955 might be achieved as a workaround by hiding decks and to only notify for active decks (=not hidden).

I too find that the ability to hide the boards is really important when you have a lot of boards.

I thought about that one and here are some concrete mock-up suggestions on how to solve it:

Add a hidden toggle to the three dots menu

The option should depend on the state:

• hide board
• unhide board

I didn't really find another place for the "hide"/"unhide" toggle.

Viewing hidden boards

Since boards may already be in a sub-level on the left side like "Shared with me" or "Archived" or (maybe) categories/projects in the future I would suggest adding a setting at the bottom for choosing whether or not to display hidden boards.

The label should be "View hidden boards"

I'm not a big fan of another menu entry there. Maybe rather focussing on board grouping might be the better option with #2006 so there to organize the boards that are irrelevant to a group that then gets collapsed by default. cc @jancborchardt @nimisha-vijay

+1 I've problem with many shared boards. Most of them no longer needed (process done) so I want a way to archive/hide them
