Mobile device support?
Hello, I am very happy with performance of wiretrustee, I am a fan of Wire Guard. But how about mobile support like iOS, Android client?
Hi @NgTrThanh Thank you for the feedback!
This is on our roadmap. And we have plans to work on mobile clients in Q3 this year. What would be your preferred platform? iOs or Android?
Feel free to share your use case [email protected]
FYI: we will be soon releasing desktop clients.
Hi @braginini Thank you for infor. I prefer iOS. My coming project is use Raspberry Pi with LTE dongle in a remote location to monitor/collect data a pump station, then send back to a Influxdb/Grafana database/dashboard. Another case is use Raspberry Pi with LTE dongle as an ADSB radar on an high tower.
My first attempt to remote control/ debug it is to use pivpn (Wire Guard combo with ddns + port forwarding like home router), but I found my dongle connection is ppp and hard to bind/bridge and take a lot time to config it.
The next is Zero tier, but I found it rather low performance and lagging.
With wiretrustee I found rather good performance but the downside is currently lack of mobile support as I mentioned earlier.
I hope that can try mobile version soon.
Again, thank you.
Thank you @NgTrThanh for the detailed explanation. Interesting use case!
FYI: you might find it useful for your setup in case there is not much of a processing required on your device. I've been using Onion Omega2 LTE board with the embedded LTE modem for some of my projects. It think It won't be a problem to build a version for this architecture. It is a very neat board! https://onion.io/store/omega2-lte-na/
