Cannot use Home and Capture combos with Snes controller
Hi.
I recently update my Nintendo Switch to version 12.0.3 with Atmosphere 0.19.4|S to use home and capture combos with my snes online controller. I have installed the latest release of mission control 0.5.0 pre-release 4 but when I press UP + select or Down + select nothing happens.
Do I need to configure some file or need to update anything else? As I said, I have the latest system update, latest atmosphere release and latest mission control release.
You don't need to do anything special, these combos should just work for all controllers. Have you restarted the console since you installed mission control? You should be able to pull off the combos on a left joycon (connected wirelessly) to confirm things are running. I don't own a SNES online controller myself, but I assumed that the select button functions as the minus button. If this is not the case then yeah, the combos won't work.
Yes, I restarted multiple times the console because I have been installing sigpatches and other things. I just tried with this controllers:
Lef Joy-Con Wireless:
- Capture Combo: UP + Minus: Works
- Home Combo: Down + Minus: Doesn't Work
Pro Controller:
- Capture Combo: UP + Minus: Works
- Home Combo: Down + Minus: Works
Snes Online Controller:
- Capture Combo: UP + Minus: Doesn't Work
- Home Combo: Down + Minus: Doesn't Work
Ahh I see what's up. I just tested with my joycon and yeah, you're right, only the capture combo works. This is because the left joycon is not supposed to have a home button so the console is ignoring it. Probably the same idea with the snes online controller. I really thought this worked before...
I'm not sure how this could be worked around at the moment, short of fooling the switch that they're pro controllers.
Is there any way to connect the snes controller as a pro controller with a file config?
Is there any way to connect the snes controller as a pro controller with a file config?
Not currently, but config files and this kind of thing are being worked on (primarily so that controllers can masquerade as joycons) for a future release. I will take this into account and see if we can't come up with a solution.
Could you run this build, connect your controller and post the resulting log it creates in sdmc:/bluetooth-mitm.log? I want to gather some info about how these controllers advertise themselves to the system.
Here you have the log: bluetooth-mitm.log
Thanks a lot. This won't lead directly to a solution but may provide a bit of insight. Also, don't leave that build running on your system. The logging degrades controller performance.
Thanks to you for all your work!
If you need new files, some tests or anything ask me in this thread.
