Different desktop icon for different desktops

Is this possible? Since setting different desktop backgrounds for different desktops is possible, how about the desktop icons? Another alternative would be to pin different apps in different desktops. For example, I have a separate desktop for play and work, and want to see only work apps pinned on my taskbar / shown on my desktop when I'm in the virtual desktop titled 'Work'.

I think this is a great idea, but I'm not really sure how to accomplish this. I will look into it.
