[FEATURE] Allow setting of color theme manually vs solely with wallpaper

Open dwilliam62 opened this issue 1 year ago • 7 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Sometimes you select a wallpaper that you really like but the resulting colors for terminal, borders, etc isn't what you like.

Describe the solution you'd like Currently the wallpaper rofi menu sets both background and theme Maybe a pure theme option using that same process. Maybe even a checkbox on the wallpaper rofi menu to both set background and theme environment

Describe alternatives you've considered What I do now, is at the CLI. run ```wal -i IMAGEFILENAME`` and try random images. Sometimes the results are quite interesting or dramatic

@dwilliam62 Thanks for brining this up. After the release of 2.9.5 I will look into a pywal replacement and a theme feature. I will provide some color schemes and related wallpapers by default like gruvbox and give the user the possibility to add more custom color schemes if needed.

Cool. How about a doc update on how to do it manually. Or on discord a tips and tricks channel to post things like this.

My first thought was a menu like wallpaper to select alternate theme color so reuse that code but not set wallpaper

Thanks

Don

Possible colorschemes Tokyonight, catpuccin, gruvbox, etc.

would love for this to be an option... specifically catppuccin mocha as that is shadows favourite colorscheme and they have basically themed all apps outside of using pywall to use that theme... also disabling pywal for this would be amazing
