php mail not working

Hi, I found the php mail is not working in docker based version on my server, I've followed the instructions on https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/faq/mail/ but the received an error message. please investigate, thanks.

For me mail was also not working, I setup *smtp and at least that works. I don't know if the container should have working mail, would that mean the local smtp client(usually /usr/bin/mail) is somehow configured?

  • You need an outgoing mail login somewhere, I used an old gmail account. I guess the parent node could host smtpd or running in a docker.
