Color issue on High Sierra

I'm upgrading to Mohave, so it's okay to just drop High Sierra support.

Or does this happens on Mohave, too?

It’s fine (for me at least) on Mojave. I don’t have a High Sierra around to test with. Maybe you can try compiling it yourself and seeing if removing the code here:
