[MU4 Issue] Instrument change text resets when changing part name

Open fredg999 opened this issue 3 years ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug Instrument change text resets when changing part name.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a score with at least one part.
  2. Add a "Change Instr." text in any bar of any staff; choose any instrument.
  3. Change the text in the text box (e.g. remove the "To" bit).
  4. Open the staff/part settings. You don't even need to change any setting at this point.
  5. Click OK and notice that the text in the box was reverted to its default value.

Expected behavior The instrument change text should keep the value entered by the user if it was changed from the default value.

Screenshots I'll try to add a video later if possible, but my video capture tool isn't working properly right now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Platform information

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.0-223520506, revision: github-musescore-musescore-5485621

Additional context I've had a similar issue where it applied not only to one staff, but also to another staff below, which also had an instrument change at the same spot, and it also overrode the instrument of the second staff's instrument change. I wasn't able to reproduce that bug, though, except in that one file where I encountered it first, and MuseScore started saying my file is corrupted some time after that (I'm not sure if it's related though), so I won't be uploading it unless requested specifically.
