New Games Shouldn't Appear At The Top
When a new game is created it should go below the most recently made games, so the person who's been waiting the longest is at the top, and also this would reduce the motion reducing the amount of people clicking to join a specific game and it moving as they click.
I think at some point (maybe when we had ghost games that never went away?) we made a conscious decision to do it that way (I remember it being the other way around when I started playing). Now that that's no longer an issue, we can probably look at re-doing it.
Maybe we could set it up with some set of classifiers like:
- Oldest open game younger than 10 minutes
- youngest open game
- youngest active game
I think there was another request on here for something to do with removing games that weren't being fired after people joined and left multiple times. There may be good ideas there.
What you described is good, though.
It may be inconvenient if new games are put below games that have already started. Would it be best to?:
- Have ALL open games come first in the list. Sort these games with the oldest on the top and the newest on the bottom
- Have the remaining, started games, allowing spectators come next, sorted with newest on top on oldest on the bottom
- Put started games not allowing spectators at the very bottom (or just hide them completely?)
