compare vep result and vcf2maf result

Hi, I am a newer here, and I'm wondering if there is a comparison between using vcf2maf to convert VCF files generated by VEP into MAF format and the MAF format results directly generated by vcf2maf. My data shows significant differences in the results. What could be the reason for this? Are there any relevant parameters that can control this? which one is a better way?
