Cannot Open mp3splt-gtk on Mac

$ mp3splt-gtk Dynamic session lookup supported but failed: launchd did not provide a socket path, verify that org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist is loaded!
(mp3splt-gtk:12769): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: $ sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist org.freedesktop.dbus-session: Already loaded
This is the output from my terminal. I am not sure how to approach. I have made, installed mp3splt-gtk, however it appears it's not loading for some reason.

Hello,
Please try executing the launchctl command twice: once using sudo in front of it and the second time without sudo - and then retry launching mp3splt-gtk.

You can also try those two commands:
sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.freedesktop.dbus-system.plist launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist
Same problem here, mp3splt-gtk installed via MacPorts, yet not related to dbus:
Mac:~ mac$ mp3splt-gtk (mp3splt-gtk:34451): Gtk-WARNING **: 14:21:20.135: cannot open display:
Running above launchctl didn't resolve the issue (most likely as it isn't a dbus related issue here). The issue persists when removing mp3splt-gtk via MacPorts and reinstalling via Homebrew. As far as I can tell, there's a problem launching Xorg/Gtk, but I don't know much about both. Any pointers here?
