Command/function names you want (not necessarily adopted as a command/function name):

• \operatorname!(`rot`)_{math}^{math}
• \operatorname-v!(`ope`)_{math}^{math}

Describe how you want the command/function to work. Embedding strings as operators in formulas.

Can other typesetting system (e.g. LaTeX) do the same thing? If so, provide a method to realize it.

• \operatorname{rot} in LaTeX
• \operatorname*{ope} in LaTeX

One question. Where does the name "v" in \operatorname-v come from?

This is the symbol I added in reference to math.satyh, comparing this line to another line. I think it comes from the 'V' in "Vertical."

If you have any ideas (or perhaps there is a naming convention that I am unaware of, I am afraid), I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
