unusual login behaviour with nginx access lists

Describe the bug:

Hey there :)

I use ml-workspace login via the nginx access list. Everytime I use one of the tools on the top right it requests a nginx login. I can cancel the login and the tools work just fine. This happens on Safari, but not on Google Chrome

Expected behaviour:

no login should be required after the first one or successful login should be required to the use tools

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. open safari
  2. login to ml-workspace via nginx access list.
  3. open any tool (for example vnc).

Technical details:

  • Workspace version: 0.13.2
  • Docker version: 20.10.12
  • Host Machine OS: Ubuntu Server on Intel Nuc
  • Machine used to access: MacBook Pro M1 with MacOS Monterey
  • Browser (Chrome/Firefox/Safari): Safari
