URP 17 support for metaballs

Hi! I'm trying to get the metaball feature working with Unity 6 (6000.0.40f1) & URP 17.0.4. Unfortunately the RenderMetaballsScreenSpace renderer feature is not compatible and sadly I dont have the skills to upgrade it. Any chance you could improve this or give some guidance?
