How to add an /Applications link?

Title says it, all .dmg installers have this but .dmg files from this app don't have this by default.

I love this project. Made signing and notarizing super easy. At first, I was letting gon create my DMG, but like the OP here, I wanted an Applications link. I also wanted a pretty and customized DMG file. So I split the gon operations into "sign app" and "notarize dmg" while creating my own logic to make the DMG file.
