OpenUPS does not report the battery capacity or the RTE

I used the library with the OpenUPS but it does not report the battery capacity or the RTE, and after checking the code I found that the part responsible for getting these values is blocked with the following comment: //TODO This breaks further communication with device. Needs more investigation.

Is there any way to make it work and return the battery capacity?
