Swipe Event?

Open crzyone9584 opened this issue 12 years ago • 2 comments

I've been trying to figure out how to check if a card has been swiped. Is there any documentation on how to check for a card being swiped? Right now when I swipe a card it just fills a text box in my C# program but it doesn't even need the HID library for that. I'd like to know if I can check for a Swipe Event so i can process the data from the card into the correct text boxes.

You should have solved your issues by now, but maybe it will help others.

Your reader is apparently configured as HID Keyboard. You have to reconfigure it in order to catch those swipe events. See if your reader manufacturer provides any configuration utility. I, for example, use MagSwipe Configuration Utility: magswipe

So, this issue is not related to the library, but rather a device configuration.

Awesome, thx for the info! I remember having a similar issue with 2d hand scanners, you actually had to buy specific variations that were HID only (And not HID keyboard).
