auto-load workspace file

I would like to revive this feature request #64565 as it was closed without actually getting a proper implementation and I can no longer comment on the thread.

It would be great to see an option in the settings to auto load workspace files when opening a project folder in VS Code.

Unlike what was mentioned in the previous thread the workspace prompts do NOT work consistently for me and never have done, I will only rarely get the prompt for reasons I am yet to figure out. I use the project manager plugin and often work on several projects during the day, so I have to manually locate the workspace folder each time which is a huge pain.
