vscode-remote-release Typescript projects always show "Partial ModeProject Wide IntelliSense not available" and lack intellisense features

Expected Behavior

Intellisense should work with full features. Intellisense works fine directly on the machine I am connecting to.

Steps To Reproduce

connect to a project folder running a typescript project and check to see if you have the warning "Partial ModeProject Wide IntelliSense not available" when you hover over the little brackets next to "Typescript" in the bottom right corner.

I can't repo this. Please share more details about your setup, such as the type of project you are opening on the remote machine

I am on a windows 11 machine remoting into ubuntu 23.10 using remote ssh v0.110.1.

The project is a standard sveltekit project, but I also get the same warning on other projects like a nextjs project I also work on. If I open these projects on the ubuntu machine directly there is no issue. I only get the partial support warning when using remote ssh.

same issue here... i have a mac as well as a windows.

I havent used my mac setup for months after switching to windows.

I've been using my windows system and noticed my auto suggestions/ auto imports for files and packages dont work-- and been trying to debug it for the past few days.

I thought it was an issue with my tsconfig etc-- though issue still occurs with a fresh install from i.e. nextjs without anything changed.

Thinking it's an issue with windows, i go check my mac system as i know my suggestions work perfectly on that-- noticed they stopped working there too!

Though, I noticed I get the same warning for both: Project Wide IntelliSense not available.

what fixed the issue for me;

i reverted this setting back to auto that I used from this answer: https://github.com/microsoft/TypeScript/issues/54087#issuecomment-1616680385

typescript.tsserver.useSyntaxServer back to auto

initially this answer soft fixes the folder/file moving issues that windows has trouble with compared to mac
