I get this all the time. By far, it is the most annoying thing about working with the Github extension for VS Code.
Same here. It's frustrating for sure.
@therbta i found the issue i believe.
Jio network has this issue. I have tested specifically with Airtel, Vodafone and Jio but didn’t get this issue with Airtel and Vodafone.
But Airtel was working so fine. Please try it and let us know. So that everyone can get benefits from that.
Im in the UK?
@KRAA5H oops. May be you can try some different network. May be try once with mobile data and hotspot on or other networks
Same issue now for 2-3 weeks. Any idea on a workaround fix for this? Also UK based.
I have been using an ethernet cord and haven't had the issue since. Not ideal, but might be worth a try.
Thanks, I was on ethernet when the issue started happening; it temporarily stopped seemingly for a day or so (on Wifi) and then returned, now it occurs both wired and Wifi.
Please check the output of F1 > Developer: GitHub Copilot Chat Diagnostics
Using a VPN has fixed the issue.
ERR_SSL_BAD_RECORD_MAC_ALERT suggests there was tinkering or corruption of the TLS encrypted data. /cc @deepak1556
I'm constantly hitting it.
Analyzing this issue, I suspect it is just a wifi glitch. The chat should retry.
Possible workaround: switch to a hardwired connection. This is something I can try, but not immediately.
@chrmarti, I hope this helps. If you are having a reproduction problem, a network simulator might help. I'm a Microsoft alumnus, and would like to help.

So do I. Constantly getting that error recently.
