There is no live timer in Azure Activity log when deleting a resource group

Repro Steps:

  1. Delete a resource group.
  2. Check whether there is a live timer in Azure Activity log when deleting a resource group.

Expect: There is a live timer in Azure Activity log when deleting a resource group, as shown in the screenshot below. Image

Actual: There is no live timer in Azure Activity log when deleting a resource group. Image

More Info:

  1. After the process finishes, the execution time is displayed.
  2. This issue also reproduces when deleting a Function App.

This behavior is partially by design. When there are no child tasks, we still show progress messages so users know what's happening. We chose to omit the live timer in these cases because varying description lengths can make the UI look awkward when a timer is also included. That said, this highlights a potential improvement: for simple commands with no children, where only one sub-action is being performed, it might be useful to have a flag available that enables the live timer by default.
