Turning on python: true in pxtarget.json - cannot find name "Buffer"
I have a fix for this in my pxt, but I am filing this for awareness? Python transpiling doesnt work out of the box due to missing typescript type definitions
Repro
- Use a pxtarget based on pxt-sample
- Turn on python: true in the pxtarget.json file
- Add a few blocks and flip to python Result Typescript error - cannot find name "Buffer"
After some intense digging I worked out that pxt-arcade defines Buffer in its shims.d.ts file, so I copied that and pasted it into one of my not-autogenerated files. This seems to have resolved the compiler issue.
Workaround Add these definitions into a .d.ts in your pxtarget. But not the shims.d.ts one, because that says do not edit.
(Is there a better one?)
