Set System Properties

I have a customer that is using the MXCHIP for a PoC. It uses event grid downstream form IoT Hub. If the system properties are not properly set on the the device message, IoT Hub will send the body as base64 encoded (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-hub/iot-hub-event-grid#device-telemetry-schema). I am trying to find the source code for the latest version of the FW so I can add these two properties, but I can't seem to find it. Could you point in the right direction?
