error when running on CentOS 5.7 32-bit
I compiled the tool on an Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit. Verified functionality on Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit but would not work on CentOS 5.7 32-bit. Attached is the strace log. centos5_7_strace_avml_proc_kcore_20200203_2009.log

Do you know which kernel version you were using on CentOS 5.7? This most readily shown via 'uname -a'
