Power Toys Quick Accent Stops the GPU
Microsoft PowerToys version
0.84.1
Installation method

Area(s) with issue?
Quick Accent
Steps to reproduce
When I open a game to play. The Nvidia Control Panel alerts me that the computer is still using the integrated graphics or "optimus" mode rather than switching to the dedicated graphics. The Nvidia control panel tells me to stop Quick Accent as it is preventing the computer from using the dedicated graphics. After closing or "exiting" the power toys program through the system tray icon, can the computer switch to using the dedicated graphics mode.
✔️ Expected Behavior
I expect being able to play a game without having to exit PowerToys through the system tray.
❌ Actual Behavior
I have to exit PowerToys through the system tray before I play a game. This is bothersome because I sometimes play in the morning before heading to class where I need the Quick Accent and PowerToys Run features.

Bumping this issue up, as of the latest version (v88), poweraccent.exe is still causing my dedicated GPU (RTX2050) to be awake. I believe this is unexpected behaviour, yes?
+1 on this on my Asus Zephyrus G14
Confirmed on Asus ROG Flow X13 2023
@CH0NZA, @PoisonDarterz, @gewoonnico, @alien2003 We made an update in the 0.94 version of PowerToys to attempt to fix this issue. However, neither I nor the other reviews have a laptop with hybrid graphics available. Would you be able to confirm that the issue is resolved, please?
Many thanks!
@daverayment I can confirm at least that the fix is not working on my laptop (Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH7H Type 82RD, Windows 11 24H2 26100.6725, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H with Radeon Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop)
I have attempted to also make PowerAccent to use only the integrated card instead of the NVIDIA card using Windows graphic settings, didn't seem to change anything.
I'm sorry the fix didn't work for you, @XRay71. Thanks very much for checking, and for the useful screenshot.
I'll reopen this.
Hey @daverayment , also just a small clarification that my major issue is poweraccent keeping the dedicated GPU awake.
As attached below, currently on PowerToys v0.95.0, my Acer Nitro V15 with RTX2050+Intel UHD is still allocating poweraccent in the dedicated GPU, if that helps with OP's issue.
Doesn't work for me too
